Wreath laying ceremony for Arshid Khan held at DPL Srinagar

Srinagar, June 17 (KNO) : Governor Satya Pal Malik’s Advisor, K Vijay Kumar on Monday said that the slain Police officer Arshid Ahmed Khan was a great human being and a brave policeman who faced militants within three minutes of the attack they carried out on the CRPF men at KP Road Anantnag on June 12. Five CRPF men were killed while as Arshid, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Police Station Sadar, Anantnag, was critically injured in the attack. He succumbed at AIIMS on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, to pay honour and respect to Arshid Ahmad Khan, a wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar. Senior Civil and Police Officers including Advisors to Governor, Home Secretary, DGP J&K and other senior officers laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid tributes to the slain for the sacrifice made in the line of duty. Arshid Khan’s family is survived by parents, wife, 5-year-old son Abuhan Khan, 2-year-old son Danim Khan and an unmarried brother Rashid Khan.(KNO)
